City-of-SteamboatThe City of Steamboat, in partnership with the Colorado Water Trust, CAN’d Aid Foundation, Colorado Watershed Assembly, Friends of the Yampa and Backdoor Sports, will host the upcoming Yampa River Clean-Up & Party this week. The idea is to clean up trash along the Yampa River, to enhance the beauty of the area. The party takes place Friday afternoon from 2 to 7. Volunteers are asked to meet at Little Toots Park at 2 to receive clean-up materials and to be assigned a section of the river or one of its tributaries. At 5, volunteers will return to Little Toots Park to celebrate with beer, pizza and live music. Volunteers are reminded to dress to get wet. You’re also asked to bring your own river shoes, waders and gloves. Trash bags and pick-up sticks will be provided. For more information, call 871-7031.
