Wyoming’s unemployment rate went unchanged between July and August remaining at 4 percent. According to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, says the unemployment rate is significantly lower than a year ago when it stood at 5.2 percent. The states unemployment rate is slightly lower than the national unemployment rate, which increased slightly between July and August, growing to 4.4%. The largest unemployment decreases came in Niobrara, Fremont, Sweetwater and Hot Springs counties. Fremont County had the highest unemployment rate in August at 4.7 percent, followed by Natrona at 4.5 percent, Campbell at 4.2, and Converse and Sweetwater, which were both at 3.8 percent. The lowest unemployment rates were found in Teton County at 1.6%, followed by Niobrara at 2.4 percent in and Crook with 2.6 percent.
