Elected officials in Wyoming are upset by the Bureau of Land Managements new venting and flaring rule that was approved earlier this week. Most believe that the new regulations are not needed and duplicate efforts already underway in the state. Some are hopeful that with the presidency of Donald Trump, the regulations will be overturned. Governor Matt Mead claims that the new regulations are outside of the BLM’s enforcement jurisdiction. A group of energy producers filed a lawsuit this week in a Wyoming US District court, challenging the BLM’s authority to regulate the rule.
