A recent K-9 training program was very productive for the Wyoming Highway Patrol. K-9 teams from across the state were in Cheyenne this month for an updated training session where they were taught new methods for finding and locating drugs. After the training, teams were sent on 24 hour deployments to practice the new techniques. When the patrols concluded troopers had filed 25 drug related felony charges, and 26 misdemeanors. They recovered 313 pounds of marijuana, one once of meth, three quarters of an ounce of heroin, and a variety of pills including ecstasy and oxycodone.
