Polls are open form 7 a.m to 7 p.m. today for the general election in Wyoming. Anyone who has not registered to vote before today may do so at the polls, and anyone in line to vote by 7 p.m. will be given an opportunity to vote. Employers are required by law to allow any employee who does not have 3 hours off consecutively during the polling times, be given one hour off to vote. This hour can not count as the meal hour for the employee, but can be selected at the convenience of the employer. Businesses who fail to allow employees time to vote face misdemeanor criminal charges, and a fine of up to $1,000. Supporters of candidates are also reminded that state law prevents them from campaigning within 100 yards of any of the state’s polling places.
