A single vehicle rollover crash north of Rawlins on Tuesday resulted in the death of 27 year old Parish Hansen of Sunset, Utah. The crash occurred at around 8 in the evening on US Highway 287, about 41 miles north of Rawlins. Hansen and 30 year old Kristen Cooper of Salt Lake City, were traveling together, when the vehicle veered off the highway and was over-corrected. The car tripped and rolled on the shoulder, ejecting both occupants, as they were not wearing their seat belts. Hansen sustained fatal injuries on scene. Cooper was transported by air ambulance to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, but the extent of her injuries was not released. The investigation has yet to identify which person was driving at the time of the crash. Possible impaired driving and improper lane use are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash. Hansen is projected to be the 58th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015 compared to 59 fatalities during the same time period in 2014.
