A flash flood watch is in effect for the majority of the Western Slope for the remainder of the day. The National Weather Service says storms expected to roll through the area today could bring heavy rain with them, causing flash floods. Rock slides could also occur on steep slopes. The watch means that conditions exist that could lead to flash flooding. However, Meteorologist Alyssa Robinette says the worst of the threat is likely over. She says the system that brought the threat is moving Northwest. Robinette says you should avoid low lying areas and bodies of water, such as rivers and streams, until the flood watch has passed.
