Crews are continuing to work to secure the area affected by the rock slide that occurred on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon in February. The Colorado Department of Transportation mitigation work has continued to keep the canyon open to through traffic. They are now installing permanent measures designed to prevent rocks from falling onto the roadway in the future. The plan is to create a structural barrier that will contain rock falls that occur in the area. Construction in Glenwood Canyon will last throughout the summer and is expected to be completed around the 1st of September.
