The weekend’s winter storm caused problems all over the state…especially on roads. The adverse weather caused roads to be briefly shut down in Northwest Colorado yesterday. Highway 14 from Highway 40 to Walden and Highway 40 from Steamboat to Kremmling were both closed for about an hour yesterday afternoon. On the Front Range, slick roads caused several accidents, including two involving Law Enforcement. Those two accidents happened last night just after 7 and 7:30 on separate roadways. In the first incident a Jefferson County Deputy was assisting a motorist on the side of the road, when a pick-up hit the back of his patrol car. Nobody was seriously hurt. The second involved a small car that lost control and crossed the center line, hitting a State Trooper head-on. While there were people who went to the hospital in that accident, including the Trooper, the injuries were not considered serious.
