High winds caused problems for Yampa Valley Electric crews last night. Crews responded to two incidents of trees falling onto power lines. The first happened just a little before 9 in the alley between Stout and Steele Streets in Craig. A pole and a conductor were damaged and about 24 area residents were without power until 4:45 this morning. The other incident took place at a little after 9 last night, just south of Hayden, on County Road 55. A pole and conductor were again damaged, and about 19 residents went without power until a little after 2 this morning.
