Wild Mare Trapping And Research Continues

The BLM and the University of Wyoming have announced they completed a portion of the Adobe Town Herd Management Area, wild mare bait trapping and research project, which is taking place in Sweetwater County. The group has collared a total of 14 mares so far in an effort to track their movement. The university will monitor the radio collared mares over the next three years to observe their migration patterns and movements within the management area. The research will help the BLM ensure that healthy wild horse herds continue to thrive in the area. 20 total mares will be collared during the process and all will be released back into the herd management area.
