Weather To Help Beaver Creek Fire Crews

Beaver Creek FireBeaver Creek Fire Crews will get some relief over the weekend from favorable weather conditions. For the first time in nearly a week the forecast calls for overcast skies, lower temperatures, light winds, and even a little bit of rain which will increase humidity in the area. These conditions should prevent the fire, that is burning 20 miles northwest of Walden near the Wyoming border, from expanding significantly over the weekend. Crews will use the break from the weather to continue protecting structures that may be affected by the fire in the future. They are currently working on buildings at Schaffer’s ranch and Helena Bridge to the south of the fire, and in the Holroyd Park area to the north, on the Wyoming side. The management team has received numerous calls from people inquiring about camping and hunting in the area, the fire has affected only a small portion of Jackson County so the majority of recreational sites remain open for use. The Beaver Creek Fire is on just over 34,000 acres and is 18% contained. Photos of the fire can be seen here. Pictured Beaver Creek Fire.
