Following two recent snowplow car collisions in Wyoming, and with snow anticipated again this weekend, the Wyoming department of transportation is asking drivers to use extreme caution when driving near or attempting to pass the states snow plow trucks. Two motorists collided with WYDOT plows during the first half of December, the third and fourth collisions of this nature to occur this year. In a statement, WYDOT’s assistant chief engineer Mark Gillet said the agency is urging drivers to be patient while out in wintry conditions. Gillet says that snowplow drivers are working hard to clear the roads and make them safe for motorists to get to their destinations. Snowplows tend to drive at slower speeds than regular traffic and can be difficult to see, depending on the conditions, so drivers need to increase their awareness whenever dangerous snowy conditions exist.
