Volunteers are needed to participate in the Junior Achievement program at East Elementary. Junior Achievement volunteers will help teach students about the “economics of life,” and help them understand the fundamental connection between school and success. Participants do not need any special financial skills or knowledge in order to volunteer. The Junior Achievement program provides volunteers with all the necessary materials to be successful in the classroom. Volunteers will receive training on how to use Junior Achievement’s hands-on, engaging curriculum, with the classroom teacher available for support. The Junior Achievement program at East Elementary will involve grade levels from Kindergarten to 5th grade. Volunteers are needed to lead these programs on Friday, April 6 and Friday, April 13. Each volunteer will be assigned to a class and will lead two 45 minutes sessions the morning of the first day and three 45 minute sessions the morning of the following Friday. A link to the volunteer pledge form is available here. For additional information on the Junior Achievement Program, click here.
