August visitation numbers for Dinosaur National Monument showed a 15.5% increase for the month over the 2014 August figures. While there was a slight dip in May, the other months in 2015 had increases in visitation. As of August 30th, recreational visits for the year tallied a total of 232,497 – a 15.3% increase over the same time period in 2014. August is typically the monument’s third busiest month, following July and June. Visitation is typically lowest in January and February. Dinosaur is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year with a variety of events and activities from now through October. Saturday, October 3rd is the actual Centennial Weekend.
