U.S. Fish and Wildlife Employees Plead Guilty To Illegal Hunt

colorado parksFour men including two U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employees have accepted charges related to the illegal killing of a high quality bull elk on private land in October of 2014.  44 year old Thad Bingham, the man who killed the elk, pleaded guilty to trespassing and illegal possession of wildlife in a Garfield County Court late last month.  Bingham was on the hunt with 45 year old Brian Scheer, 48 year old Barrett Rowles and 45 year old Josh Fitzsimmons. Bingham and Scheer work for the US Fish and Wildlife Service.  The four men were charged with trespassing onto private land northwest of rifle to harvest the elk.  All four face 5 year suspensions of their Colorado hunting and fishing privileges.  Bingham will also have to make a $5,000 donation to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
