Routt County Search and Rescue teams responded to two separate incidents Thursday. Rescuers were called into the Fish Creek Falls Thursday afternoon, to assist the ski patrol with an injured skier. A rescue crew was also called to the Dumont Lake area on Rabbit Ears Pass, to assist a snowmobiler who ran out of gas. The snowmobiler was removed from the area without incident. He is now responsible for recovering his snowmobile. According to a representative with Routt County Search and Rescue, other than not having enough fuel, the snowmobiler was well prepared to stay the night. Being prepared to spend the night in the backcountry is always recommended, regardless of the length of a planned snowmobiling excursion.
