High winds continue to cause problems for travelers on I-80 across Wyoming. Overnight the interstate was closed to light, high profile vehicles in both directions between Walcott and Laramie due to extreme blow over risk as winds were gusting up to 65 mph. By daybreak that closure was reduced only to light trailers, but added reduced visibility between Exit 279 at Cooper Cove Road and Laramie. Drivers should be aware that State law allows for a fine and jail time for failure to comply with highway closures and restrictions. As conditions have been changing rapidly on I-80, drivers are encouraged to dial 551 for the latest road conditions before traveling.
