Tipton, Glynn And Rankin Win In Colorado Primary

election resultsResults are in for the Colorado Primary and the closest race that occurred yesterday was for the Colorado Board of Education. Joyce Rankin, wife of Colorado Representative Bob Rankin will maintain her seat on the school board as the District 3 representative. Rankin received 56% of the vote across the state. In Moffat County Rankin received close to 60% of the vote. Both Moffat and Routt County bucked the statewide trend when voting for the republican candidate for the U.S. Senate. Jack Graham carried both counties but fell in the statewide vote to eventual winner Darryl Glynn, who will be the republican to challenge Democrat incumbent Michael Bennet. Glynn also was the choice of Rio Blanco County Voters, slightly edging out Graham. In the republican congressional race, newcomer Alex Beinstein was soundly defeated by incumbent Scott Tipton. In Moffat, Routt and Rio Blanco counties Tipton received a large majority of the votes. Tipton will face off against Democratic challenger Gail Schwartz in November.
