The race for Moffat County Commissioner district 3 is now a three way race, after Donald Broom announced his intent to run last week. Broom, who is the general manager of Sombrero Ranches, is running as a Republican. He will take on Tom Mathers, who also announced a bid last week, and incumbent Frank Moe. Moe has not officially announced his intent to run for re-election, but has previously given strong indication that a re-election bid is planned. Broom has lived in Moffat County for the last 18 years. Prior to working at Sombrero Ranches, Broom also worked at a number of state and federal agencies, including the US Forest Service, BLM and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
