Crews have contained the Three Springs Fire which was reported to the Craig Interagency Dispatch Center Monday night around 7. The lightning caused wildland fire is on private land four miles north of Highway 40 and nine miles west of Elk Springs. It was contained at just over 28 acres. The fire is burning in grass with some pinion and juniper trees. Mobilized to the incident were two Artesia Fire Protection District engines, one National Park Service engine, one Bureau of Land Management engine and fire management officers from Moffat County, NPS and BLM. Crews fought the fire late into Monday evening. They resumed building a fire line yesterday morning joined by a four-person BLM hand crew. No structures are directly threatened and no injuries have been reported.
