The Deep Creek Fire, which is burning in the Routt National Forest, 9 miles northeast of Hayden grew 1,600 acres over the last couple days, increasing from 2,200 to nearly 3,800 acres. Crews have yet to establish any containment of the lightning started Deep Creek Fire, which is still 0% contained. The size of the Big Red Fire has not increased much this week, growing 400 acres to around 1,800 acres. The Big Red Fire was also started by lightning and is burning 5 miles south of the Wyoming state line, in North Routt County near Clark.
