The Memorial Hospital Ends Relationship With Quorum

tmh-188 copyThe Memorial Hospital at Craig Board of Trustees announced at its board meeting Thursday night that it will not renew its management agreement with Quorum Health Resources. Quorum has had a management agreement with The Memorial Hospital since 1987. The current agreement expires this year at the end of June. Board Chairman, Forrest Luke, stated that the Hospital Board will work with Quorum and interim CEO John Nickens to develop a transition plan. The Memorial Hospital is already recruiting to hire a permanent CEO and CFO. Luke continued, “As a board, we wish to thank QHR for all their years of service. Our decision to move away from a management company structure and go a different direction as a stand-alone facility in no way detracts from our appreciation of and respect for QHR employees John Nickens (CEO), Tim Howard (CFO) and Gerald Parton (RVP). They are consummate professionals that we will miss as the contract winds down.” Gerald Parton, Senior Vice President for Quorum Health Resources said, “Quorum Health Resources is proud of the many accomplishments The Memorial Hospital achieved during our 29 year relationship, including our company’s role in assisting with the development and construction of the new hospital, and providing consistent and seamless leadership for nearly 3 decades.” Parton added, “Quorum’s management support has helped the hospital achieve strong financial performance: net income for the hospital increased over $2 million in 2015 over the previous year. Cash reserves increased 33% during the past 2 years. The Craig community should be very proud of The Memorial Hospital, which is well positioned for success in the future.”
