Steamboat tax collections were up slightly in August according to the preliminary Sales Use and Accommodation Tax Report. Taxes for August increased .36% when compared to the previous year, with the biggest gains coming from Marijuana sales, which grew by more than 9%, and utilities, which was up nearly 8%. There was however a decrease in use tax collections which was $186,000 lower than last year. Overall year to date tax collection are up by more than 3% when compared to 2016.
