Taxes Going Up In Craig?

taxesBudget woes continue for the City of Craig and Moffat County. The Moffat County Commissioners approved the budget for 2017 at their weekly meeting Tuesday. The County will have nearly $37.5 million dollars to spend this year which is $6 million less than in 2016. The falling numbers are partially due to declining property values. Since 2011, property values in Moffat County have fallen by nearly $80 million, resulting in an 18% drop in property taxes collected over that time period. Declining property taxes and other factors have put a strain on the county’s budget for next year and the foreseeable future.
