Hickenlooper Signs Bills

JOHN-HICKENLOOPER-300Governor Hickenlooper has signed a couple more bills into law.  The first bill extends the ReHire program for an additional three years. Last year, Colorado lawmakers set aside $3.6 million to establish ReHire Colorado, a transitional jobs program that connects Coloradans who are ready to work with local employers by providing job training, wage assistance, and support services. The program targets veterans and low-income, low-skill Colorado workers who are unemployed or underemployed, helping them get off of public assistance and back into the workforce. The new law takes effect on August 6th.  The second bill expands the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for Schools loan program. The program provides school districts with loans for wind, solar, or other energy efficiency projects. The projects help ensure that schools are efficient and conducive to learning. The law takes effect immediately.  Pictured: John Hickenlooper
