Controlled Burn gets out of Control

wyman fireA controlled burn near the Wyman Living History Museum got out of control yesterday afternoon. Craig Fire/Rescue responded to the blaze, which was burning in a haystack. The fire was visible from Highway 40. No one was injured, and firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading any further.  Click picture to enlarge.

Crash Briefly Closes Highway 40 Near Steamboat

Vehicle-Accident-300An accident on Highway 40 this morning, closed the road for a brief period. Details about the accident are forthcoming, however the Colorado State Patrol described the accident as significant. The crash was just outside the Steamboat city limits, between Walton Pond and the entrance to Highway 131. Highway 40 is now open.
