Routt National Forest Fire At 3,800 Acres

fire in Routt National Forest2Due to a shift in the winds, the Beaver Creek fire that started Sunday in the Routt National forest is now burning on 3,800 acres up from the 500 acres that were on fire Tuesday. The fire was mainly located in the Twisty park area between Beaver Creek and Rhea Creek about 20 miles northwest of Walden near the state line. Because of the wind shift the fire has now spread to BLM managed land on Independence Mountain.
