Wild Horse Trapping Underway

Wild horse gathering is underway in the Adobe Town, Salt Wells Creek and Great Divide heard management areas in Wyoming. As part of the BLM’s commitment to maintaining a healthy wild horse population in these areas, they will be removing more than 1,500 adult wild horses. Of the 1,500 horses, approximately 725 would be removed from the Salt Wells Creek heard management area, 513 from the Adobe Town and 322 from the Great Divide Basin heard management area. A portion of Forest Road 100, also known as Buffalo Park Road in the Gore Range near Yampa, will be closed for approximately two weeks, starting today, to allow a culvert to be replaced.
