It appears the Swinging Bridge will not get fixed until 2017. That’s according to Roy Tipton with the Moffat County Office of Development Services. Tipton says the deadline for applying for a grant for the funds to fix the bridge is Friday, and they have not yet been able to secure the required amount of funds to match. He says that’s largely due to the fact that they weren’t aware of the opportunity until last month. Tipton offered a few options for construction, the preferred being one that requires almost no maintenance, saving the county man-hours and equipment costs. The cost of that option would be around $1.2 million dollars. The county would be responsible for coming up with about $118,000. The county will have to apply for the grant during the next grant cycle.
