A Rock Springs man was arrested last week after a woman spotted her stolen wedding dress on Facebook. Sweetwater County Sheriff Rich Haskell said deputies and county detectives have been working a residential burglary since February. Among the items reported stolen from a home north of Rock Springs were tools, fishing tackle, a semi-automatic rifle magazine, artwork, and a wedding dress worth nearly $1,100. On April 10th, the victim reported to authorities that her wedding dress had been posted for sale on a Facebook online garage sale notice for the Rock Springs area. A detective followed up and identified the seller as 50-year old Leon Lynch. In an undercover capacity, Hall bought several of the stolen articles listed on the Facebook page and detectives then executed a search warrant for Lynch’s residence, where they recovered stolen property valued at over $2,000, a motorcycle reported stolen in Uinta County in 2010, and a small quantity of marijuana. Lynch was arrested at the scene and charged with felony Theft, Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Property, and Possession of Marijuana.
