Steve Hafey “Voice of the Moffat County Bulldogs” Passes

steve-hafeyLongtime former 93.7 102.3 KRAI and 55 Country play-by-play announcer Steve Hafey died Friday.  In addition to his over 32 years as the voice of  Moffat County Bulldog Football, Basketball and Wrestling, Hafey offered his service and experience to the Moffat County community as a board member of the Craig Youth Baseball Association, Craig Chamber of Commerce, Moffat County United Way, Moffat County School Board and Boys and Girls Club of Craig.  While a teacher and coach at Stratton High School, he was recognized as the 1973 Single-A Wrestling Coach of the Year.  He had also been named  “Craig Man of the Year”.  Last month it was announced that Hafey was to be inducted into the Colorado Football Officials Hall of Fame to acknowledge  his continuous 47 years as a High School official.  The induction ceremony came one day after his passing.  A celebration of Life will be held this Friday afternoon at 2 at The Journey Church in Craig with interment at the Craig Cemetery.   Pictured: Steve Hafey.
