Steamboat Teen Council to Celebrate Opening of Slackline Park

TEEN COUNCILThe Steamboat Springs Teen Council (SSTC) will celebrate the Grand Opening of the Howelsen Slackline Park this weekend. Slacklining involves using balance to walk across a length of nylon webbing stretched between two points. This project was created by the 2012-2013 Teen Council members as a way to increase fun physical activity among their peers and in the community. The project is funded by LiveWell of Northwest Colorado, the Civic Canopy in Denver, Grand Futures of Routt County, and the City of Steamboat.  The celebration will take place on Saturday from 5 to 6 at the Slackline Park at the base of Howelsen Hill, between the Alpine Slide and volleyball courts. There will be music, food and the Teen Council will be giving away free slacklines.  For more information call 871-7054.
