The City of Steamboat has published the final June 2014 Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. Steamboat’s June sales taxes are 8.21% more than the June 2013 collections, a difference of $119,371. The June 2014 collections have surpassed all prior June collections. Notable categorical increases were 15.79% in lodging, 8.62% in miscellaneous retail and 8.48% in restaurants. Collections by area showed increases of 16.22% for the Mountain area, 10.55% for West Steamboat and 9.45% for the Regional area over June 2013. Year to date sales tax collection is showing a positive trend at 6.9% more than year to date through June 2013.
