The City of Steamboat has published the preliminary June 2014 Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. Steamboat’s June sales taxes are 7.59% more than the June 2013 collections, a difference of $110,430. Notable categorical increases were 15.54% in lodging, 8.01% in miscellaneous retail and 6.90% in restaurants. Collections by area showed increases of 16.06% for the Mountain area, 12.39% for Regional and 7.94% for the Downtown area over June 2013. Year to date sales tax collection is showing a positive trend at 6.79% more than year to date through June 2013.
