The City of Steamboat has published their preliminary February Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. Steamboat’s February sales taxes are 9.62% more than the February 2014 collections, a difference of $191,167. Notable categorical increases were 18.38% in lodging and amenities, 9.19% in restaurants and 8.75% in sporting goods. Collections by area showed increases of 15.44% for the Mountain area, 12.43% for the West Steamboat area and 8.44% for the Downtown area over February 2014.
