The City of Steamboat has published the final July 2014 Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. Steamboat’s July sales taxes are 13.18% more than the July 2013 collections, a difference of $219,106. The July 2014 collections have surpassed all prior July collections. Notable categorical increases were 28.39% in lodging, 16.80% in restaurants and 13.67% in sporting goods. Collections by area showed increases of 30.22% for the Mountain area, 13.72% for West of Steamboat, 12.80% for Regional and 12.01% for the Downtown area over July 2013. Year to date sales tax collection is showing a positive trend at 8.05% more than year to date through July 2013.
