The City of Steamboat has published the final April 2015 Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. Steamboat’s April sales taxes are 9.50% more than the April 2014 collections, a difference of $98,246. All categories reflected increases this month with the exception of Utilities. Categorical increases were 40.66% in lodging and amenities, 11.08% in sporting goods, 10.51% in liquor stores, 9.94% in restaurants and 9.88% in miscellaneous retail. Notable increases in collections by area were 32.83% for the Mountain area, 9.66% for the Highway 40 Corridor and 8.58% for West Steamboat in comparison with April 2014. Year to date sales tax collection is showing a positive trend at 6.67% more than year to date through April 2014.
