The City of Steamboat has published the final March 2015 Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. Steamboat’s March sales taxes are 2.67% more than the March 2014 collections, a difference of $64,525. Most categories showed modest increases with Utilities reflecting the highest increase over 2014 at 11.86%. Lodging & amenities reflected a slight decrease of 1.59%. Collections by area showed increases of 17.81% for the West Steamboat area, 3.28% for Downtown and 2.59% for the Highway 40 Corridor while the other areas were relatively flat in comparison with March 2014. Year to date sales tax collection is showing a positive trend at 6.11% more than year to date through March 2014.
