Steamboat sales tax collections in April were slightly higher than previously thought. According to the final Sales Use and Accommodation Tax Report for April, taxes increased by more than 6.1 %, or nearly $70,000, as compared to April of last year. This is nearly $20,000 more than was thought to be collected in the April preliminary tax report. The largest overall tax gains came from marijuana tax collections, which were up more than 19% and miscellaneous retail which grew by more than 11%. To view the Final April tax report, click here.
