The Secretary of State’s Office has set the ballot for this year’s elections. There will be 4 statewide issues for voters to decide. Those issues will deal with the definition of a person, casino gambling in three counties, food labeling, and open meetings. All 4 are citizen driven measures. The personhood measure is one that has been around for a while, this being the 4th time in the last 6 years a variation of the amendment has been voted on. The open meetings amendment is aimed at school boards, and would provide more open meetings requirements. Local issues will also appear on the ballots, which elections officials will start mailing out October 14th.
