State Approves MOCO For Rural Jump-Start

The Colorado Economic Development Commission approved the application this week for Moffat County to participate in The Rural Jump-Start Program. Rural Jump-Start provides specific tax relief to new businesses that are located in certain economically distressed areas of rural Colorado, like Moffat County. To qualify, companies must produce a product that fulfills a distinct need, and does not compete with any other businesses in the state. As part of Rural Jump-Start, the city and the County agreed to drop all property, sales and use taxes for any new businesses that qualify. Those businesses will receive tax breaks for 4 years, and may apply to extend the tax reductions an additional 4 years. For more information on the Rural Jump-Start Program click here.
