Colorado Parks and Wildlife will open Stagecoach State Park to boaters tomorrow morning. The Marina Boat Ramp will be open and the Morrison Cove Boat Ramp is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend. The Stagecoach Marina store won’t open until May 22nd. Stagecoach is a popular destination for boaters, campers, anglers and hikers. Because it is early in the season, boaters are cautioned that floating debris and unmarked hazards may exist. In addition, park staff encourages everyone to wear their life jackets at all times, especially during this time of year. At a minimum, boats must have one U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket per person on board. Other required equipment includes an approved sound producing device, a Type IV throwable floatation device, and in some cases, a fire extinguisher. Youth under 13-years-old are required to wear an approved flotation device at all times while on a boat. For a detailed list of required boating equipment, click here.
