Special Olympics to Take Place in Craig This Weekend

SPECIAL OLYMPICSThe Special Olympics Colorado Western Area Games take place this weekend in Craig.  105 athletes are expected to participate.  Activities kick off tonight with a dinner to honor the athletes and their coaches and families.  Dinner starts at 5:30 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds, with a dance to follow.  After a breakfast at McDonald’s tomorrow morning from 7 to 8, organizers will start registering the athletes at Moffat County High School, where all activities will take place.  The torch run will start in the parking lot of the Centennial Mall at around 8:30, and the opening ceremonies will be at 9.  Lunch will be at 11:30, with the awards ceremony to follow.
