Residents are encouraged to learn the importance of soil conservation and how to increase soil health and quality with an event next week. The CSU Extension Office will host a Soil Health Workshop and Farm Tour on the 29th. The goal is to provide the education through field demonstrations and lectures from farmers and natural resource professionals. Those who participate will visit an experimental research plot that is implementing several techniques aimed at improving soil health at the Frentress Ranch. The free workshop is sponsored in part with funds from Western Sustainable Agriculture Rresearch and Education, CSU Extension, Natural Resource Conservation Service, and the Routt County Conservation District. For additional information and to RSVP, call 879-0825.
