Smoke May Be Visible From “Big Red Fire”

Smoke from the fire that started Saturday in North Routt County may still be visible through the weekend. The Big Red Fire, which is burning in an area of beetle kill timber near Clark, is now estimated at 8 acres. The U.S. Forest Service is monitoring the lightning started fire and will begin direct suppression in the event the fire moves beyond an established perimeter. Currently no structures are being threatened by the blaze. Photos of the Big Red Fire courtesy of the North Routt Fire Protection District Facebook page, click to enlarge.
