The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office is being vague about an incident that occurred yesterday afternoon, in which a Moffat County Deputy Sheriff and a Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) District Manager were involved in what the department is calling a “critical incident” with two subjects in unincorporated Moffat County, about ten miles from the Colorado/Utah border. They’re not saying what the nature of the incident was, but there are rumors of an officer involved shooting. No injuries were sustained by the Deputy or the CPW officer. The incident is being investigated by the 14th Judicial District’s Critical Incident Team. Although the details of the incident are being withheld, the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office wants to reassure the public that no threat to public safety exists.
