Shadow Mountain Project Begins

shadow mountain village meeting-150 editThe Shadow Mountain Village Project won’t be affected by yesterday’s ruptured gas line in the neighborhood, nor was the incident a result of that work.  Yesterday afternoon a natural gas supply line was broken by a resident using a backhoe.  Atmos Energy, Craig Firefighters, Moffat County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMTs were called to the scene to close the area around the gas leak and be on hand if the situation required their assistance.  The gas leak was repaired and all emergency personnel were withdrawn by around 4. City of Craig and Moffat County crews are working together, along with contractors, to replace water and sewer lines in the subdivision.  At the same time, the streets and gutters will get a face lift, improving the subdivision’s utilities and appearance.  Ground broke on the project yesterday.  It’s expected to take a few years to finish the entire project, with funds coming from the city, county, and grants from the Department of Local Affairs.
