Senators Respond To State Of The Union

Colorado’s Senators both responded to the President’s State of the Union speech last night. Republican Senator Cory Gardner applauded the President’s speech, highlighting his call for unity, saying the goals the president outlined will “serve as a blueprint for what Congress can achieve for the American people in the coming year.”  Democrat Senator Michael Bennet disagreed, saying the President somehow made a call for unity sound very divisive, and that his tone and lack of results on important issues “make it difficult to believe his speech is anything more than hollow rhetoric.”
