Senators from Colorado, Wyoming and Montana are co-sponsoring a bill to re-authorize training and other assistance for rural water providers. Colorado Democratic Senator Michael Bennet said Wednesday the bill will renew the Environmental Protection Agency’s technical assistance to small utilities to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act. The bill would renew the assistance for six years. It’s called the Grassroots Rural and Small Community Water Systems Assistance Act. Other sponsors include Republicans John Barrasso and Mike Enzi of Wyoming and Democrat Jon Tester of Montana. The bill has a dozen other co-sponsors.
